time to get a lil bit funky....

Re: time to get a lil bit funky....

ok i'll post.

Its reallllllly cheesy basically! And the lead guitar riff/solo doesnt work for me.

The vocals dont have enough of a defined melody.

On the positive, the recording quality is very very good.....what gear do use? (especially for the drums)

Re: time to get a lil bit funky....

thanks for actually posting! lol

yamaha aw-16g as my processor/mixer....had a mic on the snare (sm57), and 2 condensors overhead....

Re: time to get a lil bit funky....

Re: time to get a lil bit funky....

Man, I could totally hear that on college radio. You should check into that. I have a friend who does lots of stuff like this. Fun stuff, lo fi in all the right ways.

Re: time to get a lil bit funky....

really? cool thanks! how would i send it out and stuff..any advice?

Re: time to get a lil bit funky....

I would try locally, just contact a college station in your area, tell them your wish to submit some music, find a name to submit to. Put together a nice package and send it off. If there are any radio stations with a local segment, we have a few here in Minneapolis. Do the same thing. On a bigger scale, there are agencies that do this specifically, it can get spendy... I would say to get your feet wet, just try making a few calls and see what you can make happen.

Re: time to get a lil bit funky....

cool man. means a lot to have someone actually think that something ive created is pretty cool, expecially from someone as talented as you.....

Re: time to get a lil bit funky....

I'm just a noise making fellow, nothing fancy...

I dig quirky pop, as I said, a friend has done this for a long time and I really enjoy it. Your track is a fun one. I dug it.

Re: time to get a lil bit funky....

Sort of B-52ish vocals and lead riff. . . not really my cup of tea but it's not the worst thing I've ever heard . . .
