So far the reviews are good. Don`t ask me, I have yet to try it. :)

Heading to the MB site now.

Whats the difference between the Deuce and the Trident?

Re: Time to open your pocket books, Stiletto is now available.

The deuce is 50/100W switchabl and the trident is 50/150W switchable if memory serves. There may be some other options too.

Why anyone would need a 150W el34 based amp is beyond me... 50w is already way loud! But hey if it sounds good thenn.... :fing25:

I can't wait to get to Hollywood and try thing this out.

Re: Time to open your pocket books, Stiletto is now available.

that thing looks like it's got some serious potential...are there sound clips anywhere?

Re: Time to open your pocket books, Stiletto is now available.

There is a review of it on theaxehouse forum. The reviewer says he will have clips up by the weekend.

Re: Time to open your pocket books, Stiletto is now available.

I have a confession to make...I have never played a rectifier! :yell: :laugh2:

LOL well you ain't missing TOO much. I'm not a fan of the triples or the road kings but the duals and singles (i own a single) are pretty cool amps and they're well built.

BTW, mrid... *ppst* clean out your pms dude I can't send you anything!

Sounds like a nice weekend to head over to the Hollywood Mesa Store and give it a whirl. I'm real interested to see if Mesa's version of an EL-34 amp will have Marshall shaking in their boots, or if it's a $1700 "whatever."

+1 I like the sound of EL-34 Tubes over 6L6's. I really have to try this one out. Is it supposed to sound like a rectifier with EL-34's, or is this an entirely new breed of amps by Mesa?

From the reviews I've seen posted, it sounds nothing like a Rectifier, nor is it as high gain.

I figure that they're aiming more at something that's a cross between Marshall and VHT (I've yet to hear one, just an opinion until then).

That is a terrible picture... check it out on the Mesa site if you want better pictures.

Re: Time to open your pocket books, Stiletto is now available.

From what I've gathered, it sounds more like a hotrodded Marshall. I definitely see it in the VHT range as screamingdaisy mentioned. The reviews I've read were really good so let's hope they're right. Could be the amp that blows away the modern production Marshalls ;)

I will admit that it does look butt ugly :yell: . I'm ready to put this thing up against my Hot Cat :smoker:

no idea how they sound .. but the logo shoulda been a woman's black patent leather CFM pump :D

Re: Time to open your pocket books, Stiletto is now available.

I've played one, at the Hollywood Mesa shop that GJ mentioned. Not my thing at all...I just wasn't impressed. Not nearly enough gain for anything I'd like to play.

Hmmm .. well, a VHT uses a rectifier tube, so I don't see how you can bridge those two sounds together.
Also, this amp already exists, if this is the case. It's called an ENGL. :)
