It's better than just a plain black or tweed box. :22:

I think it would look good with the grill cover like the Rectoverb head.

3 weeks until my dealer gets one in. :)

Stiletto now available

I wanted to inform the board that the Mesa Boogie Stiletto is available. I had the pleasure of plugging into one of these last night. I used a variety of guitars to see what tones it is capable of producing (Music Man, G&L, PRS). I would describe its tone as most resembling a Soldano or Bogner. The Stiletto has a much more emphasized mid section than the rectos, but it retains much of the gain and chug characteristics the Recto is famous for. The clean channel is more reminiscent of Marshall. Not pristine clean and almost on the verge of break up. All things considered I think it is a good companion to the Recto. Many 2 guitar bands use Marshall and Mesa amps for their different tones, now Mesa offers their own 1 2 punch.

Hmmm .. well, a VHT uses a rectifier tube, so I don't see how you can bridge those two sounds together.
Also, this amp already exists, if this is the case. It's called an ENGL. :)

I was gonna say exactly the same thing :13:

Plus the ENGL's look heaps better i think :cool2:

Re: Time to open your pocket books, Stiletto is now available.

I played one yesterday through a Mesa Rectifer 4X12. THe amp is great looking with the Croc front and all chrome chassis. Much better in looks than any Rectifier and the tone was not buzzy or fizzy at the setting I used. I am not a fan of the Rectifier heads or 4X12s , but this amp sounds great.

I ended up on the 50 Watt, Spongy settings and liked the liquidity and sag of the tone. It was an amp you could play with not just play through. More than enough gain for me. I thought it would not satisfy most metal players. I like JCM 800s, Tweed Fenders and Vox AC 30 amps.

Brent

I wonder how it would work with an open cab 2X12 cab
