Little use, plastic is warpy a little bit. Tiny buckle rash, neck straight and frets all sing..

Your thoughts?

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

plastic can be replaced. good wood and craftsmanship cannot be.

that's a good price for a USA. is it a Faded V?

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

yeah, still not too bad a price. if it's callin your name, you might have no choice :P

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

The guitar is definitely you. I would grab it given the chance.

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

I had two. One was the best playing/sounding V I ever tried OR owned and kicked the crap out of a whole lotta more expensive pointies.

The second one had issues from the get-go.

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

I played one in store that was phenomenal a while back. I say go for it.

Also, I hope your brother is ok as well, scary stuff.

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

I didn't like the faded I had. Well the guy who bought it (in person) loved it. But I'm pretty sure he got it cheaper than me.

But I perceived the full (not faded) explorer I had as a much better guitar.

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

The issue is that some of the fadeds are good, not maybe not a high percentage.

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

hmmmm I might have to go by on the way back over to the hospital tomorrow and give it a thorough inspection through a couple amps and whatnot.... If it talks to me like it may.... we'll see.

If it sounds less than that name stamped on the front it may sit.... I don't need another guitar, I'd be spending my well hidden hunting funds for it so.... hard to make that call.

Just wanted some opinions to swish around..... Thanks brothers.

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

If I could find the Ben Stiller Starsky pic, Id post that here.. Do it! Long as it feels and plays good. Ive played some of those fadeds new in a store that felt like junk. But I bought a used one once that was killer

Re: to buy or not to buy this Gibson

I like the early ones with the ebony boards; gave one a whirl once and it felt good, but bridge was jacked up way too high and bridge pu maxed out in height though.

Also like the ever so elusive faded Explorers.
