To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

Dont sell a guitar... Unless.... You dont even care to look at it, You can get far more than you bought it for, or If you need money.

If none of thoes apply to you, DONT SELL IT.

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

i've never sold any guitar that i don't regret it!!! i wish i still had them all!!!

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

yeah, NEVER i repeat NEVER sell your FIRST GUITAR!

YOU WILL REGRET IT BIG TIME LATER ON.

i also have a little peice o'crap ibanez roadstar that after i bought my Mahogany USACG custom i can really play but i will never let it go.
I taught myself how to play on that sucker.
It knows me too well to let it go.
Got too much Mojo in it, ya know?

put it to the side and make a shrine for it. LOL

Dont sell it or youuuul be soooorrry.LOL

Seriously, dont sell it dude. money wont bring back all those memories

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

Actually, it's not the memories...it's the CURRENT mojo that he has. I played him last night...I really like that axe (flaws and all).

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

If you sell LesStrat you'll have to change your screen name to Parker Nitefly and that doesn't flow as well.

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

i sold my first guitar about 3 or 4 years ago, and i still don't regret it. (it also happened to be a squier strat...coinsidence? :D)

your call man...what would you use the money to get anyways?

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

DO NOT SELL THE LESTRAT!

Give either to me or to the guy who wants you to donate a LP to him, I'll leave that to you. :p

Seriouslly man, don't sell it. MOD IT untill you find you can't let it out of your site. Besides, its your first electric.

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

Nooo. LesStrat can't go. I am confident that you will regret selling him.

If you need the space or something, take out the parts and put them in a Fender Deluxe MIA Strat, he probably would have wanted it that way.

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

If there is any glimmer of doubt in your mind, don't sell!

I get the feeling LesStrat the man and LesStrat the guitar have bonded, in which case selling is a no no. :nono:

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

I have this same conundrum with one of my Peavey's. I really should sell one of these to fuel more GAS, but I can't part with any. And, they'ld never fetch what I think their worth.

So, here's a possible option. Sell it at a slightly reduced price, to a forum bro who might agree to give you "buy-back" rights. They could check out some "rails" in a Strat, and maybe in a year or so, you could get it back. (Perhaps at a pre-arranged buy-back price.)

I know its a weird idea, but thats how my head works. :laugh2:

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

buy a MIJ strat with a neck profile you like, and transfer all the parts across! MIJ stuff has seriously good fretwork and build quality, and if you're lucky you'd get it for like slightly more than a used MIM strat...

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

I kinda am with Artie about the buy back thing. Someone you trust on here or you've dealt with already who wants to check out those pickups. The problem is that for a whole year... Well it's just a Squier for all it's worth, and the temptation may be big to mid it even more. I'd have to go with, DO NOT SELL IT on this one.

There is always that issue to consider. Then again, I'm about to acquire a Fly Deluxe with CC/AIIP pups.

Now that IS quite an interesting handle, isn't it? Think of all the avatar possibilities. :)

Actually, it's quite a good band name too :scratchch

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

I don't sell guitars. It's a retirement account, in effect. At least, that's the way my wife has started to see the collection. Some of them have increased in value, some of them haven't. It's like buying stock, except that these are more fun play with than paper certificates!

Re: To sell, or not to sell, that is the ?

Don't make me come down there, bro. You're not selling that thing, and that's final. Unless you work out something like Artie suggested.

Proxy might be on to something, if you're willing to take a bit of a loss in the long run. The pups and tuners are what will fetch a big part of the money. Sell them and buy your new guitar. Then, when you get the funds, replace the pups and tuners. You'll end up spending more, but it'll keep you from getting rid of the guitar.
