To warmoth or not to warmoth...

Re: To warmoth or not to warmoth...

Update:
I went with a warmoth WGD - mahogany body, bubinga top, TOM bridge, HxH route and strat controls. Neck is Warmoth style straight pull w/ angle, Mahogany with ebony fretboard, gibson conversion length, 6105 frets, Mother Of Pearl dot inlays. Pickups are Alternative 8 Bridge, Black Winter Neck with push/pull controls for series/parallel on the neck. Not much else special other than white plastic covers for the pickups that I may decorate at a later time, but to me it's perfect

Awesome! Congrats on a fine purchase!

Pics most definitely required!!!

Re: To warmoth or not to warmoth...

I just placed an order for an all roasted maple Regal neck from Warmoth; 59 roundback, SS6100 frets with a TUSQ nut. I can't wait to play on it with how much people seem to be loving their roasted maple necks around here!

Oh, yeah. You're going to love that roasted maple. Be sure to burnish it to a finer finish before you install it. Of course, if you do nothing with it, it'll still feel better than anything else. The factory finish is sanded to about 330, I think. You can take it up to a super shine if you take it up to about 2000 grit.

I ordered my neck unfinished, I was just gonna put a thin touch of clear satin on it to protect it a bit. Do you guys have any tips for technique (besides a fine sand) or types of finish?

Roasted maple does not require a finish so I ordered mine without a finish. I don't like playing on finished necks and none of my Warmoths have finishes on the necks.

Greta guitars! I absolutley love Iceman axes, but that neck on the strat is killer, I would stick it on the Iceman ha!

Id go with the warmoth just because of the customization aspect. They never dissapoint me with there work.

Thx! Oh no, the Iceman is my favorite and gets the most love. The quarter sawn USACG Maple Neck is one of the best I've ever had; right on par with my old '88 B.C. Rich "Graffiti" Gunslinger as far as feel and playability. The Ice is one of those guitars that came together perfectly, exceeded all my expectations and makes me want to play it. Plus it sounds incredible...to my ears the JB/Custom Custom Hybrid TB nails EVH tones in this guitar.
