They said it couldn't be done...

Don't risk a brand new neck they warned!

Just be happy with it as is was the advice

NEVER!!!

First, we remove the frets and markers so we can flatten the radius to 9.5"

Then we attach thin strips of wood to prevent rocking.

Dive officer, make your depth 64 thousand

Don't forget to remove the truss nut (bad things happen when you hit them with a router)

Don't do it, just an innocent guitar neck!

Well, goll! I wish I had the skill to do that sort of thing.

Re: Today's episode of In The Workshop, Balls of Steel Edition.

Nice work. Start as 7.25”?

I don’t want to give away the project, but yes. I could only get the neck with vintage specs and I needed a bound neck.

Going to be something you have not seen from me (I hope)

Jerry I barely have time for my own crap. I just happen to have some time to try and get some of my back log. I have several going on at once, and I try to not waste free time

Very nice. Very well executed. It's fun to see that 90% of your time is being spend with prepping, measuring and prepping again. The cut itself takes no time at all.

@metalmaniac: if Ayrton is too busy for a project, I might pick it up if you so wish? I have plenty of time.

Re: Today's episode of In The Workshop, Balls of Steel Edition.

How'd you get the binding to make such a tight bend at the bottom of the neck?

Re: Today's episode of In The Workshop, Balls of Steel Edition.

Nice work...the binding adds a classy touch to the neck.;)
