The shellac has been the biggest revelation in this. I had some left over from refinishing a table and it works so well I won’t use sanding sealer anymore. I brushed the shellac on aith a foam brush and after sanding makes the lacquer spray go down silky smooth.
I have used flakes, but the premixed stuff works great.
