Todays the day

So after getting tax returns in (i do them early) and getting paid friday, i have enough financial freedom to pick up the guitar ive been looking at. I'm trading in my epi LP custom (alpine white, beautiful guitar) for a fender american, blizzard pearl, maple neck. after the trade and talking the salesman at my GC down, ill only be paying around 300 for it, which i think is a hell of a deal. i'll be posting pics once i get it, just thought id share the excitement. any last minute thoughts to consider??

Re: Todays the day

Do you have other LPs or similar guitars? If not, I'd strongly suggest keeping the LP and saving up your money for the strat. Epi LPs are nice guitars. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Todays the day

i do have another LP, its a LP 100, picked it up off ebay for like 150 two or three years ago. not the best guitar in the world but definitely enough to fulfill my needs for a humbucking guitar. ive really been feeling the strat for a long time now so i feel its about time., plus the LP im trading in is in pretty ****ty condition, but the GC salesman was too eager to make a sale to really notice :) (gotta love those idiots). so i dont mind

Re: Todays the day

Just personally, I'd hang onto the Epi Les Paul Custom, even if it's in "shifty" condition. The bolt-on neck on the 100 makes it a bit less desirable IMO.

Re: Todays the day

well i went there all set to go, and the salesman (what a shock), seemed to "forget" the deal that me made me on my previous trip, and tried to up me 200 on the original price he gave me. so i gave him a friendly f*uck off, kept the LP and ended up getting an Ibanez acoustic (AEG, beautiful orange flametop, ill probly post pics soon). he was a d*ick about it too, so when i got the acoustic (which i needed more anyway), i bought it from a different salesman that i've had good past experiences with so the jackass didnt get the commission for it. so no strat for me for now, but im quite happy with the acoustic instead.

Re: Todays the day

this is true, i dont have the skill or time as of late to start a project now tho. ill just have to wait till i either have time or money to dive back into the strat saga. for now im pretty content in knowing that i wasnt letting the GC guy get away with lying to me. thatll hold over any disappointment i would have for a while

Re: Todays the day

I have never understood why they do this. If they're not sure how much your guitar is worth, wait and appraise it when you come in. This is just wrong.
