I don't know why, but I really like the look of this. I have no idea why someone did that, nor can I imagine why they're asking $1500 for it on ebay, but I find it pretty nifty. Just...different.

It's alright to me. I've seen people do that with acoustics also. It's actually practical if you are a rhythm player and tend to scratch both sides of the strings when strumming/wailing.

It reminds me of John Cipollina's SG.

Les Paul did the same thing with one of his own. By way of comparison, this one sold for $43,750 at auction. But of course, Les hand made the pickups in this one.
