Tokai custom shop??

Ok, my friend got a tokai (this guy is trying to "compete with me for gear..even though I am in no way competeing with him.. long story) anyway, he wont shut up and I was wondering...does tokai have a custom shop?? I could've swore they didnt...any help? And how would the a real Les Paul stack up to a Tokai?? I heard they make pretty good copies.


He's starting to piss me off, If I had the money I'd be a prick and go buy a ****ing Les Paul standard or a Custom and ****ing rub it in lie khe's rubbing this in...and I play strats!!! anyway, there is astory behind this, if you wanna know I'll glady tell it. thnx for your help.

Yes, they do.
Besides the basic Japan models.
The LS60 through LS85.
They also make higher end models.
LS120, LS200, LS320.

I pretty sure that they are also the shop that made
my Diodati 59Q and 58 for Pete Diodati.

As for the Korean Tokai. Those are what LTD is to ESP.
Or OLP to Music Man.

I know that they have some (very) high end LP copies ($2.500).

Tokai got sued by Gibson back in the early 70's

Tokai actually made better Les Pauls than Gibson and Gibson did the same thing to them as Gibson did to PRS.

Guess that's the way of the corporate world when another company make a better prodcut - sue them the Gibson way.

Hahha, ya, I know they got sued, but thats a good motto.

I think tokai should start building origionals, I bet they would do pretty good...you know just change small things and make it their own.

They make real good copies. Tokai was even labling some of some of their guitars with gibson headstock and selling them as gibson's when they first started.

However they aren't worth much as a copy is still a copy.
