TOM to wrap around conversion?

Theres a gibson les paul junior I'm going to try to get, its double cut, tv yellow, kinda beatup, 1 p90. but it has the abr1/stop bar setup. I've always thought that the wrap around bridge was an important part of the junior. Does anyone know if a conversion would be a goood idea (professionally done of course)? How would it change the sound? Would I have problems with action or intonation? I don't care about cosmetics cause the guitar is already kinda beat up. Good idea?

If it had a TOM, I would keep it. In tonation and action would be much easier to maintain and will be more accurate. I suspect sustain would also be better with the stopbar and TOM. The wrap-around bridge is used on those guitars, because they are meant to be econo models.
