Tonal differences between dogear and soapbar pickups?

Is there a tonal difference between a soapbar p-90 and a dogear? I'm only curious for the bridge position. I ask because 2 guitars I'm interested in are the les paul junior

and an sg junior

I realize the difference in body shapes would make a bigger difference but I'd like to know the actual difference in the PUs.

Nice looking guitars...what are they?

I *think* the difference would be in that (again, I *think*) the dogear is mounted directly to the body and that might affect the tone.

and the other is a proto type for a korina junior. I would just get the lp junior MF has though. cause that korina is like 2 grand!

Ok, I think I know what you mean, so the only difference is that they're mounted differently? I remember reading that EVH mounted his humbucker directly to the wood because allegedly it would improve sustain or something. Then I heard that it doesn't really make a difference.

i think both soapbars and dogears are mounted direct to body. usually, you will find foam under the soapbars for slight height adjustments. dogears looked as if you can't adjust the height of the pickup. just the poles.

i read that dogears have better better tone due to the way they are mounted. i don't know how much truth is in there but that's what i read and i took it with a grain of salt.

i actually dont think there is a difference (and if there is, its incredible minor).

i think this because i believe the only difference between the 2 is the cover......and even that is basically the same...

+2, both are mounted directly to the body, both share teh same physical and electrical specs.... The only difference is the rout it´s dropped into
