Yes, sorry, the "k" was missing and I was being facetious. Most of all glad you guys are safe! Hopefully that is the worst of it and insurance settles up quickly!
So many opportunities for PRS/POS jokes but everyone is being so polite. . Also -no first world problem memes yet? the man has Mesas breeding at his house - damn
The way lighting arcs across the inside of an amp, here's hoping that amp will every be the same as the voltage would have gotten everywhere even if the power supply is restored and the unit gets back to working condition -but hey who knows -maybe it will sound better.
But seriously, invest in a power conditioner that has a lightning/surge insurance guarantee once you fill out the warranty (Most Emerson, APC units do) and you'll never have to think about unplugging your amp again if you are not home when a storm strikes -thats piece of mind. Of course, if at home -always unplug anyways...
I know several people who have installed physical disconnects (via a solenoid and low voltage or wifi controller) to the power in their home studio -so at the touch of their cell phone remotely or from a physical remote control all of their important stuff is removed physically from the house electrical grid. It's not expensive to do.
The amp is fine what happened is a ?
Today was waiting on a call on the home repair stuff so had a few minuets to play. so I threw up my little Zoom Q3 recorder plugged into the Archon and the matching PRS 2/12 with my old Carvin DC 127. Guitar is loaded with a Alt 8 and a Sentient absolutely no effects just guitar cable the amp not even any reverb.and recorded this over a jam track. God I love these amps!
