Tone and volume pot question

I purchased a Schecter C-1 Blackjack and after having it for a week I noticed when I turned the tone and volume pots it produces a slight scratchy sound unless you have your hand on the strings. Is this common or is something wrong? The pickups and five way switch are super quiet. Any thoughts? Thanks

Common among Schecters. Spray some contact cleaner in the pots, or switch em out.
