Tone difference between Ceramic and Microfarad Poly-Film Capacitors?

Assuming the values are the same? Or is just a durability difference?

Also, compared to a .022 MFD; will a .047 MFD capacitors bleed off only more of the mid range frequencies, or will it bleed a larger range of frequencies (from the same highs as the .022 to the mid range)? Or am I absolutely confused?

In my experience, ceramic caps pass the "truest" signal, meaning that other capacitor types affect the tone in some way.

I think ceramic disc caps might sound just a bit "grainy" in a guitar amp but in a guitar's simple tone control circuit where the output of the cap goes to ground never to be heard from again, I don't know that I could hear a diff between ceramic or plastic.

In any case, I use Sprague Orange Drop caps in my guitars...high quality caps. .02 is my preference....they leave more mids in the guitar signal that .047 when I turn down the tone control.
