Tone pot to control the bridge pickup of a Strat

I'll receive my Strat copy tomorrow and I want to have one of the tone pots to control both the bridge and the middle piukcup. I read somewhere that it can be done, but can't seem to find it.

Can this be done or do I have to choose the bridge OR the middle PU? If so how do I do that?

Also, what value would you suggest if I use, say, a JB Jr. bridge and neck with something more traditional like a duckbucker in between? 250K for the tone pots and 500k for the volume pot?

Sly, I can tell you about the pot values...I use 3 single coils in my Strats...as fo the woring do a search on the forum for JV Strat wiring...there was a thread less than 2 weeks ago started my Jump Marine where I posted 2 or 3 different schematics...it will show you how to move the middle tone control to the bridge and also goes into "50's" wiring...

Take a look at this schematic: (ordinary Strat wiring)

See how one tone control has a light-gray line connecting it to the 5-way, and the other one has a dark-gray line? Add a short jumper from the dark-gray line to the empty lug right above it. That'll do it.

I have one of my strats set this way. It is fine. I have another set with the tone on the bridge and neck with non onthe middle (Jimmy Vaughn wiring). I like the effect better as impact on the inbetween positions seems better to me.

As far as pots are concerned, I'll keep the stock pots for now and if I find the tone too dark, I may change the volume pot for a 500k pot.
