have american hh strat s-1 switching, all pots are 500k .22 caps, just wondering what difference it would make if i discconnet tone pots as i never use them, wondering if it would make tone brighter, if so would you just disconnect wires from switch to tone pots and leave caps and ground wires still hooked up.
thanks:fingersx: :fingersx: :fingersx:

I would say don't. You never know when you might need them. I felt the same way until I had to play something with "woman tone".

Re: tone pots

Good Advice.... the tone pots have a theoretical drain on the tone, even when they are wide open..... BUT, you probably couldn't hear the difference, unless you had an EXACT guitar and ran em through the same setup in real time.....

There's nothing like the buttery tone of the neck pup through a TS-808 clone into my HRDx with the tone rolled back to about "3"....

If you're that worried about tone drain, get those Fender no-load tone pots. They work WELL :D

Yeah, all you do is disconnect the wire going to the tone pot. Leave everything else intact, for ease of hooking it back up.

You should pull them out of the guitar, though. They look cooler with only one knob, and it lets people know that's all you need :)
