Has anyone tried these locking bridge and stopv peices from tone pros? Are they worth the $140. What model is the one for a 1994 les paul classic goldtop? I am new to Les Pauls and want to upgrade a few things. Any suggestions?
I already have a c5 and alnico pro 2 I just got some sperzel tuners that have not been installed yet. What else to get this guitar in shape?

Re: Tone pros locking bridge????????

Well, I have the tone pros locking tail studs and the locking bridge. Sorry I can't tell you which one I have, but it was a direct knockoff of the bridge that came on my 58Reissue. Just email them and tell them what you have. You really don't need their stopbar tail, just the two locking studs that hold it in place. As for the locking bridge, I swear by it. Once you get that intonation set, you just about will never have to mess with it. I like to take all my strings off once a year and really clean the crap out of the neck. I like that I can really polish up the finish around the bridge and NEVER have to worry about screwing up the height or having the damn thing fall off.

I think it's a great idea that I really wish I'd thought of. I just dont' recall mine costing 140 bucks. That seems high.

Re: Tone pros locking bridge????????

The PRS one is supposed to be nicer, but the Gibson style tune-o-matic and stop bar is just a $15 Gotoh (even has gotoh stamped on the bottom) with a couple allen screws tapped into it to hold it in place.

Will the prs style bridge made by tonepros work on my gibson?

I've got the TonePros bridge & tailpiece installed on one of my Les Pauls and its awesome. I've noticed significant increases in sustain. It's nice too that your bridge doesn't fall off the guitar when the strings are off!

If your interested, I'm a TonePros dealer and have them in my store:

Re: Tone pros locking bridge????????

I have the McCarty Tonepros bridge, and love the perfect intonation, and also love the added sustain, which really brings out the resonance as well. I bought it because the McCarty was nearly impossible to intonate with 11's in alternate tunings.
My LP's don't have any Tonepros, only because they're too costly. I actually needed it on the PRS. Tonepros has the best customer service I've ever encountered, so there's no worries about potential problems.

How much for all the bridge area stuff (bridge, stoppeice etc.)in gold and in black? Personal message me if ya get a chance. I went to your link but am not sure what to get for my 1994 les paul goldtop. it has chrome hardware but I am thinking of going with black as I have chrome sperzel tuners and black pickguard, pickup rings, toggle. I may sell my sperzels for some gold ones if I go the gold route. Thanks

Re: Tone pros locking bridge????????

LuvLesPauls, is there any way to get the tiny parts for Tonepros bridges, such as the little C rings and bolts? Their Customer Service tends to send a whole new bridge, rather than supply parts, but can you get those parts?
