tone zone 7 in the neck of a ibanez universe?

im changing the pickups in my Ibanez Universe, the emg 707s have the right amount of power and tightness i need, but the tone just isnt want i want. 59-7, JB-7 and Distortion-7 (my favorite 6string pickups) just dont work in basswood.
right now im thinking the X2N-7 or D-Sonic-7 for the bridge. I've heard that Michael Romeo from Symphony-X uses the tone zone in the neck, and i have a tone zone-7 hanging around

would this be a good idea?
anyone got a suggestion for shred-metal 7string pickups?

everyone on sevenstring.org says the tone zone 7 is the worst pickup on earth so I wouldn't stick it within 4 feet of that UV...
