Are you running 1/4" TRS from Tonelab to the KRKs?
Check your levels, they may be too high.

Also, "sounds like sh*t" covers a wide range of crapiness.
Can you be more specific?

Make sure you read through the manual at least twice and make sure you have your settings correct for your setup...I run my LE through a Fender 2x12 combo and have gigged extensively with it...I get great tone and I Love mine..You need to learn how the unit works, before you can get what you need out of it..

Like Stratdeluxer97 says, you have to be ready to spend a LOT of time with the Tonelab. I have the Tonelab LE as well and it is killer! I use every different Marshall model, the tweed 4X10 and the AC30 extensively as well as all the effects. There is a setting on the unit for closed back amps, open back and PA's or direct. You've got to do that, then make sure the tube is biased right. John sent me this link.

After you've set it up, biased it, made a sacrified to the Vox Gods, then spend a lot of time programming it like a real amp with all the effects off etc...you should love it. Also, this unit is amp sensitive it seems. Put it through a crap amp, you'll get crap out. Put it through quality and that's what you will get. I've never heard of those monitors before so I can't give an opinion on whether they are good or not but don't count out that it could be the speakers.

Again, read that manual until you want to rip it up from being sick of it. :naughty:

I really hope you get what you want from your Tonelab man, because right about now I'd be lost without mine.

Please don't take this as an insult, OP, but you do have cabinet emulation engaged, right?

Re: Tonelab LE sounds like sh** Help

Does the Tonelab have output selection for amps and direct to the computer like the Boss GT10 does? You can select what the GT10 is being plugged into...

Re: Tonelab LE sounds like sh** Help

what sort of soundcard are you using and what settings are on it? I dont think you should expect awesome tones from nearfields, i beleive that are for analysing your audio, not enjoying your audio lol does that make sense? :P Try playing an MP3 through them 1st.

Re: Tonelab LE sounds like sh** Help

Still trying to tweak the settings but, the sound has improved dramatically. I also realized that I was using speaker cable 1/4" and not instrument cable 1/4". Used the Line 2 setting to activate the Global EQ. Still learning and a bit overwhelmed but, it is becoming easier. I must be an idiot with multi pedals a lot to understand.

Re: Tonelab LE sounds like sh** Help

Ah, we all do stuff like that, don't sweat it. The main thing is that it sounds better and hopefully you'll be getting the tones that you want out of it.

Re: Tonelab LE sounds like sh** Help

Tone was very muddy, and bassy sounding. not clean at all.

If you're running it through an effects loop, you have to have it set to "line" or it'll sound real muddy. I'm not fanmiliar with the KRK G2, though.
