TonePort test: Spinal Puppet Amp

ImmortalSix

John Mayer's Mankini
All recorded with my TonePort's "Spinal Puppet" amp model. Sounds really good now that it's dialed in!

Recorded on the sole humbucker (bridge) of my $60 Jackson, and my older-than-me-P-Bass.

Puppet

P.S. I ripped off the accent parts from Biu's earlier TonePort test, props to him!

Re: TonePort test: Spinal Puppet Amp

Epic!!! Wow, you really gave my harmony thing a heavy metal feel there, sounds great! What were your settings? I actually really dig the Spinal Puppet model for somewhat fuzzed solo tone.

Where should I send you the Orange settings?

Re: TonePort test: Spinal Puppet Amp

You made it sound good. I never liked that model, what was the trick?

Thanks!

Biu, I was going for the minor-key metal song verse thing here - will probably "tighten it up" rhythm wise, speed it up for the final version of the song. Maybe more palm muted and articulate and less legato on the high harmony.

Played on a 1990's Jackson JS20 with a single JE10 humbucker with a gibson nickel cover, Fender vol and tone pots, "vintage" .022 cap

It's ugly (chrome bucker in a Jackson looks funny) but it sounds so **** good - killed some highs when I covered it - I also had to back the pickup down a lot to get the cover to fit - it sounds better, less icepicky than stock Jackson config for sure!

Re: TonePort test: Spinal Puppet Amp

Spinal puppet is one of the best with 30's.
I used it in all my 6 string songs! If you check my older songs ,all you hear will be spinal puppet!

Re: TonePort test: Spinal Puppet Amp

good luck - I'm glad I didn't get sacked for my scooped mids - :haha:

Re: TonePort test: Spinal Puppet Amp

ha ha you should see my favorite rhythm setting
I bought a spiderII head just to get the spinal puppet out of my computer and in a amp
how did you get the screen capture in toneport?
