Too Many D*** Dirt Pedals

Re: Too Many D*** Dirt Pedals

Yeah, the only ones I've been seriously thinking about getting rid of are the Fuzz Factory and the TS9, because the Fuzz Factory is too touchy and over-the-top and I have a better-sounding tubescreamer-type pedal.

But then I'll find a tone I like on the Fuzz Factory and have a blast, but I've just never found a use for it live.

Re: Too Many D*** Dirt Pedals

Does anyone else have this problem? For some reason I just keep acquiring more and more of them when there are so many other kinds of pedals that I don't own any of.

Yea... I am the same way. And I am starting to move into the more expensive ones too.

Re: Too Many D*** Dirt Pedals

speaking of hoarding dirt boxes I just acquired a Boss SD-1 at Music Go Round yesterday I've been cleaning/organizing boxes from when I moved and found some things I didn't need. Couple old sets of pickups and the like. Rather than take like $30 cash I decided to take the SD-1 that looked like new I've always been a huge Blues Driver fan.

Can't wait to get this pedal mod'd, unless I decide to sell it. That'd give me some cash to work with since I might be selling my Tweak Fuzz, Twin Tube, and the SD-1.

I'd like to get a nice overdrive (for light-moderate gain) and a Uni-Vibe (most likely micro vibe or soul vibe, picklevibe is cool but it seems kinda pricey for what it is).

Re: Too Many D*** Dirt Pedals

If I had the space and dough, I'd own many more, because I just love the variety, although I don't seem to keep those don't make enough difference or just don't sound good, so in the end and in reality I'll probably end up with around 4.

Right now I just have an original year barber direct drive for marshal type tones and a VS jeckyl/hyde for tube screamer and metal tones, although the jeckyl side only does it for me when I use it in front of other dirt pedals; seems to firm up the bass and add compression/sustain (and it loses the harsh attack it has on it's own); crazy it goes from useless for me to fantastic.

The hyde side is just too bassy and distant sounding to me, so I'm getting either a triple wreck or beast/supercollider to take care of over the top metal tones. Considering some others as well though.

I'm also getting a wampler ecstasy to take care of the milder, non-marshally side.

If those two new ones work out, I'm left with 4 and that may just be enough for me....famous last words.

Re: Too Many D*** Dirt Pedals

I am getting all that I need out of a V-Twin, HT Dual, Route 66, and Dist+. Still, I dont think that is anywhere near a lightweight set of pedals.
