Took the SFX-03 home today

I usually play the synthesizer and guitar but I don't want to haul the keyboard and guitar amps together. Most of the time I just hook up a pre-amp in between my guitar and the keyboard amp, but I would use no effects and that sounds pretty dull. I finally went out and got myself the TwinTube (SFX-03) this afternoon and tried it out on my Roland keyboard amp. I could tell the difference as soon as I played my first note. It enhances the sound of the guitar but it retains the characteristics of the the guitar and the amp. I was using my Strat with the Cool and Hot Rails and they sounded very good either in series or split and I could get a lot of different tones from the SFX-03; from clean Jazz to full shred and everything in between. I don't have a chance to try it out on my other amps yet, which have effects and EQs and guitars with different pickups because I have to leave my house. I can't wait to find out how they will sound.

Its my first day with mine too! So far its fantastic, I think. I've only used it through my old practice Silvertone and just sounds great. Both channels are completely usable and the tone controls make EQing after switching guitars a snap. Still havent had a chance to really open her up yet, hopefully tomorrow.

i did that once when i was lazy about hauling both the mini PA synth amp and the guitar amp .. i took my modeling pre amp and used speaker sim and put it thru the mini PA amp i use for my synth and piezo ... sounded really quite good

Damn!!! Another thread that is making not buying one of these very hard!!! I think I've heard enough good things that I should just "give in" to the GAS!!!

Definately a pedal that does not suck. Great tones, very organic and natural sounding, not artifical.

You've got it! :fingersx:

I tried it with 3 of my Fender guitars on five of my amps this afternoon. One Strat with CRn at neck, CRb at mid and HRb at bridge, all splittable; one Strat with noiseless pickups and one Am Delux Tele with the S1 switch. The amp were Twin Reverb, Blackface, Dynatouch, Marshall and a Vox. The SFX-03 really opened everything up but it sounded so natural that if you don't know it is there, you would think it was just the amps with great tones. The Vox and the Fender amps except the Dynatouch were a little bit tighter than the Marshall probably because they're combos. The Marshall really sounded awesome even with just the 2x12 cab. With the 4x12 cab, it rocked. The Dynatouch is not one of my favorite amps, but it still sounded very good. One thing I'd found is that you have to put the amps in clean. The SFX-03 will provide you with all the tones you need. Putting the SFX-03 on top of a dirty channel does not sound that pleasing, at least to my opinion.

I'll try my Gibsons on a later day. This really gets me excited.

I have used to as a booth and as a midgain stack, but I have not tried it full one into my El Diablo Full on at this point. I am not sure why I would actually.
