Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

Yes man as soon as I have the $$$ to burn. This amp is improbable for the price.

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

It's worth every dime. I don't know if I posted this already but, it pushed my Orange 4x12, Green 4x12, Emperor 2x12 and Sunn 4x12 all at once. My neighbors called the cops.

This video comparison paints an interesting picture:

The Marshall wins but at 1/10 of the price and form factor that micro terror is giving it a scary run for it's money.

Finally just watched this video. I couldn't tell the difference between the two clips. Thanks for convincing me I don't need a Vintage Modern after all :smokin:

ALL of them? Man! Great stuff!!! :D

These tiny gadgets are tricky. The funniest part is seeing the smile melting down of the faces of downlooking folks, full of prejudice. Even more funny to see folks to realise of what they were listening during the concert. Epic reactions, man.

Volume is a strange beast, for sure. In 2 decades, not one single neighbour came knockin on the door for lower volume, except for one occassion. Before the first gig I was testing the EHX 44Magnum with our drummer, we were curious if it works in stage volume environment. I was using a little open-back 1x12" cab, the drummer was hitting hard. In 5 minutes a woman from the neighbour came begging to decrease the volume. Our drummer is really heavy handed, he said okay I won't kill the kit that much. No, said the woman, you're doing fine just like you did in the last 5-6 years, no probs, but pretty please lower the guitar a little. That point, we realised that it will be more than okay for onstage use :)

That's sexy as hell man.
Makes me wanna buy two 4x12 and see what my Egnater would do with them.

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

ola englund demoing the orange micro terror:

disclaimer: he can make anything sound good!!!

Not trying to necro or anything but my favorite thing about this video is how he acts like he is afraid of the volume knob.

the amp opens up, sound so thick and full and heavy when you get that volume knob cranked up... and every time he turned it up a notch he turned it back down half a notch.

You will easily get better tone than that guy does in that video with a Micro Terror.

This post inspired me to plug my Tiny Terror into two Marshall Jubilee cabs. Holy crap does that little amp push some air when hooked up to 8 speakers! The only thing I'd plugged it into before was my Bogner 212 cab, and that's plenty loud.

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

I know this thread is a year old, but try the micro terror with an eminence big ben in a fender.ported bass cab...also drop in a Russian mullard 12ax7...holy tone man!!! Amazed. The 15 makes this thing sound larger than life and the Mullard makes it way louder than the jj as well as opening it up. Way clearer, not as compressed and breaks up in all the right places.

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

I use mine thru a 4x10 with Emi Ramrod/Ragin Cajun's, it's a little killer for sure

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

You all are giving me GAS! And this close to Christmas.

It is close to christmas, but I paid 85 for the micro used, and 129 for the fender 115 base cab. 110 for the eminence big ben, and 20 for the mullard. Tone = a much more expensive and larger marshall easily.

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

I picked one up last week. Really pleased with it. Actually more pleased than I've ever been with a hybrid amp. They really nailed the "tube feel" with the class D power amp.

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

Looks like an unbeatable emergency amp. It's staggering how much you get for the buck with that!

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

Wow. Had a full band practice last Saturday with it. My mates loved the tone. Gain about noon, volume about 1 o'clock. More than loud enough through a 4x12. Philosophers Tone for more crunch amd OCD for lead with the PT.

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

I had the tiny terror, & gave it to my brother , & I have a micro for backup ( I use Carvin V3) the micro is a cool little backup..

Re: Totally Impressed: Orange Micro Terror

Is there anything as tiny as the TT that sounds good and has a similar amount of power, with an FX loop?
