TP6 and half round strings

ehdwuld

A Ficus
So I just got my new tail piece for my Ehdwuld Signature
To correct the slim anchor problem with the original

Decided to use a TP6 for the upgrade
While fine tuners on the bridge is a bit of overkill
Since the locking tuners on the headstock and the perfectly cut nut are just fine
I figure, as long as I'm at it

Oh and I also put one on my Epiphone Florentine
Since I was changing strings and all

By the way
I discovered these half round daddarrio strings
Round wound and ground flat
Feel like flat wound, with low finger noise when sliding up and down
But with the bite of round wound
Set of 9-42s are super slinky feeling

Durned cat is exhausted

Re: TP6 and half round strings

I ordered the TP6 from China
The anchors for the roller bridge and the TP6 were 12.2mm and fit the holes in my Ehdwuld

The tailpiece studs spacing is a bit closer on the Ehdwuld than the Epiphone
The Gibson is wider yet
So if you get one of these, be aware you may have to tweak them a bit

It's a drop in for Epiphone
The Gibson is too wide
The Ehdwuld is too narrow

I had got a set of the half round strings for the Epiphone Florentine
A while back and the package looks just like the regular round wound

I accidentally used them on the Ehdwuld
And they felt great

Tried a set on the Epiphone Florentine and again they felt great
These strings are destined for the Dean Shire and the Gibson Custom Studio on the next string change

Re: TP6 and half round strings

Maybe I should get a TP6 for my Gibson. I have one especially sloppy Grover machine on the D string of my Tribute. Actually, those are the sloppiest set of Grover machines that I have on any guitar. I'm joking about the fine tuning tailpiece but I'm either going to have to find a single Grover machine to replace that one. Or, I'm just going to replace the whole set. I think there may be a Gotoh set that drops right in, including the mounting screw alignment. I don't have to have locking machines, but maybe I'll just get them for this one.

Re: TP6 and half round strings

I just saw the ones mutt used on his and they were inexpensive

I have no opinion one way or another till I get a chance to try em for a while
