Trade MIM Strat for Floyded guitar

Hi,

I have a MIM Strat that I'm about two seconds away from routing it out to accept a Floyd copy trem. I'm considering trades for a guitar with a Floyd trem to save my from modding a great guitar as is. It's satin red and I added a 22nd fret to it. If you have any offers, let me know before I go crazy and take the dremel to it.

I have an 80s Korean squier with a floyd copy, I had it and a MIM strat at the same time (strat belonged to a buddy) and both play almost the same, Although I prefered the squier. It has H-S-S. I got a dual hum guitar so this one doesnt get any playing time now.

how did the 22 fret get installed? did you add a little bit of wood on the end of the neck?

Yup, actually used a small piece of popsicle stick for it. It took about 3 tries to get the intonation dead on, but turned out great.

Here's the pic, you can see the 22nd fret came out pretty good.

popsicle stick??? are you pulling my leg? the grain would be running the wrong way and that stuff is too thin....

Re: Trade MIM Strat for Floyded guitar

I chose the popsicle stick because it's soft and easy to work with. I glued 3 sticks together and shaped them to fit over the end of the fingerboard. After installing the fret and shaping the wood, most of the fret is stitting on the orginal fingerboard and just the fret ends are over the stick. It's been hoding up well so far.

As far as any trade goes, the offer is off of the table. I started the process of installing the trem. The studs are installed and I think I'm going to recess it a bit.
