Keep the marshall.
I dont know why people think 2x12s are not as loud as 4x12s.
Its all about speaker efficiency and eq curve.
You said it yourself...your cab sounds great. And it has the headroom to handle your powerful amp.

.....a 2x12 or a 4x12 is still one trip to the car when you are performing too. The only difference is the weight. 2x12s and 4x12s both take up the same fotprint on the floor too.

A 2x12 with two V30's won't be as loud as a 4x12 with four V30's. That's a fact.

When you have different speakers in each cab, it can be the same or the other way around. Just depend on which speakers are in which cabs.

btw...those V30 speakers are very loud....
i might sound a bit old skool, but a quartet of g12t75s is a great sounding rig. Thats what marshall used to use in those 800 cabs anyway. Huge sound for high gain without the treble punching you in the ears.

I just picked up two and put my them in my Bassman cab. Can't wait to get my amp back and see how they sound, especially since they have the hemp cones.

Kind of digressing here, but I would like to know what the volume of a Marshall 4x12 vs. a Bogner 4x12 is. Clearly the Bogner cabinet is a better cabinet in theory. In practice , I dont know.
I like the thin style profile of the Marshall 4x12 as it helps with the OOOMPH/Clarity factor ( for comparison, I have a Sunn very deep cabinet as compared to a Marshall 4x12 cabinet that doesnt hold up well on bass and muds out and also gets inarticulate throughout the low mid range), but I'm not sure how a Bogner 4x12 compares th Marshall in LxWxH stats?

They're the same, and the construction of the Bogner is nearly identical to an old basketweave cab. The only difference I can see is some insulation in the Bogner to kill standing waves. I have a Bogner 412 and Marshall 1960AHW, they're nearly identical in look and sound. My Marshall Jubilee 1960AV is a little more scooped and crunchy. And that's with Vin 30's in all 3.

Better in what way?

The quality of workmanship may have very well been better for the 800 cabs than the modern Marshall cabs, even though supposidly no change in design... besides, old wood sounds better!
