Trade my Single Rectifier for a 5150?

Both in equal condition. The person wants a straight up trade. While I'm looking for something different, and have liked what I've heard...

Doesn't the 5150 cost less than the Single Rec. Would it be better for me to Unload it on the Bay, then buy a 5150 and pocket the difference? Should I ask if the guy will throw in more? If so how much?

I'm leaning towards no, Selling my Single, adding some Money and getting an Orange Rocker 30 but I wanted to ask you guys.

after a completed listings search I'd say the mesa typically sells for 100 to 200 dollars more.. haggle with him.. but be willing to accept something.. if you really do want a 5150 it's better to trade for something you've already played (assuming you've tried it out).. you don't have to deal with shipping and none of your profits go to ebay or paypal (if applicable)

I wouldn't do it at all if it were me. Mesa stuff is just better built than Peavey stuff IMO.

The way I think of it...the Mesa can do everything well.

I once said the 5150 was 'the heaviest, most punk rock amp i've ever heard.'

Then I played an Orange.

Oranges are pretty much the ultimate amps. Stylish and toneful, and enough popular bands use them that the 'real working rock community' has labelled them trendy and thus aren't as popular as they should be. Get on top of a Rocker 30 and if you don't like it, I'll trade you for my Bassman head and a HEFTY bag full of good karma.
