Trade: My strat for your tele?

Re: Trade: My strat for your tele?

I'm looking for a tele as well, or any other weird guitar for that matter. I've got a MIJ Squier E series 57RI with 2 vintage Fender pickups and an Allparts vintage style.

Re: Trade: My strat for your tele?

judging by your pics, I am too. If I had a tele to trade I'd take the deal. But tell that guy with the muddy waters tele about mine.

Re: Trade: My strat for your tele?

crafted in Japan. Usually done so with Korean or Chinese parts. But it just seems that even when the Japanese are putting sh*t together, they do it better than anyone else.

Re: Trade: My strat for your tele?

Lots of people say the CIJ models are better somehow, but that's false. There are also a lot of people who say "domestic market" fender japan models are crafter to a higher standard than the exported models, which is pretty much false too. They just changed the label on the neck to "crafted in japan" cause it sounds classier and looks nicer written in cursive font, so people think they're more expensive.

In reality all fender Japan guitars are great. The hardware is a bit rougher around the edges than in a US model, but that hardly matters because the wood is of good quality and they're screwed together to equal or better standards.

(One tiny exception to the CIJ beats MIJ myth is Jaguars, most MIJ models are basswood, CIJs in general are alder. But that's only a general rule, my MIJ being one of the last ones made before they "switched" is an alder body ;) And even that's subjective. Depending on if you like basswood :D

Re: Trade: My strat for your tele?

You left out the fact that most MIJ guitars use MIJ fender pickups, and most CIJ guitars use USA Texas Special or AV series pickups. That makes a big difference.
