This. The entire stack. Cab has a quad of 75s, head was freshly tubed. Some dust and dings in the tolex, but everything seems to be working just fine. I dont plan on keeping it, but I'd say I got the better end of the deal.

Very solid trade. Nice score. I don't know what the used value for that fender was about around me, tht half stack would bring in over a grand so ya I'd say you came out on top. Congrats man. What tubes did they put in? Is that the 50 or 100 watt model???

Re: Traded my Hot Rod Deville 410 for.....

Also since you don't plan on keeping it, some food for thought. I traded my few month old dsl 100 head straight up for a vht deliverance sixty head and road case.

Around here the devilles go for about $450 tops, but even at that price I dont see them selling. Its the 100watt DSL with JJ's in the power and Tung Sol pre's. Its a sweet sounding amp, and having a Marshall stack in general is just fun to look at, but I'm after that damn Shiva!!!

Even better. I'm with you on the quest for a shiva. That being said, I saw some used shivas on guitar centers online site selling for around $1500ish so your close

If there's nothing wrong with that halfstack, the person you traded with is a dumbass.

The Deville is a excllenet sounding amp for sure,, but yes, Stevealysis did get the best of that trade by , what, a couple hundred maybe ? Marshalls and cabinets aint moving for cash, but then niether are Fenders, or much of anything ( I had my mint 1300.00 Super Reverb for sale for ages for 800.00)... and maybe the guy got waht he had into it, who knows?

+2

DSLs are great amps and my DSL50 gets played plenty (currently competes with a Straub, Engl, and Egnater for play time).

Had a HRD 4X10 sitting in my basement for two years. Played it 2 or 3 times. Pretty much hated it. Luckily it was a friend's, so after he realized that it was never gonna grow on me he sold it.

I completely agree with everything MM said here. I too had a Super Reverb in mint shape up for sale for almost 2 months at $1000 OBO. Not a single offer - not even a lowball. Retails for $1549 and like Jerry said, they won't even move at 50% value. AMAZING amp, but big, heavy, and hard to sell.

Devilles... I had a 212 Deville. I dumped it the minute I got my Super Reverb. Absolutely no contest. Still, I don't care what anyone says - I actually like the Deville's drive channel.

lol..But yeah, I even put it on Ebay Local Pickup best offer. Would've taken 750 cash even. Everyrones in the same boat. I damn near got a MKiv head for that Super Reverb, but didnt quite have the cash to make the trade up, and it got snapped out from under me. I only wish I had the cash to snap up so many of the Boogies that have gone cheap around here this past year, and especially lately.
Trades are the way to go now, and the only way to go in many instances.
Thats not entirely bad, although to be honest, I needed the money more than the trade, although the trade I made was a good one, and hopefully I'll parlay my trade into what I ultimately desire.

I hear ya. I didn't *need* another 40-50 watt amp and it would have been nice to divest myself of one, but it wasn't selling so might as well try something else out. Maybe I'll actually use this one?

This is pretty much it. The dude wanted something more practical for small bars, and had zero luck selling... his post title was specifically asking for a Deville. Im not looking to sell it, but i knew it was a little more desirable as trade bait, and valued a hell of a lot more than the Deville.

That said, I still have a Deluxe that I love... these amps take pedals better than a lot of other Fender amps Ive tried, and some beautiful tones can be had. Just check out Mike Landau and Scott Henderson.

Re: Traded my Hot Rod Deville 410 for.....

You got a hell of a deal man. I've actually yet to use a DSL - weird, huh? Ever since I got my Bassman, my amp GAS has completely and totally disappeared. The only thing that made me remotely moist was a Mesa TA-30 and an Uberschall, but still... nah.

Happy NAD!

Re: Traded my Hot Rod Deville 410 for.....

Very good decision. I never liked the Fender Hot Rod series, but the DSL kicks ass!!

Re: Traded my Hot Rod Deville 410 for.....

I like my DeVille, and I've honestly never been a huge fan of Marshall space heaters, but you done right without question.
