Trademark 60 speakers?

New Tech 21 Trademark 60's have Celestions vs the old style which are 'Tech 21' speakers...anyone know the difference, if any, in the sound? I have tried the newer ones which sound good, and have a chance to buy an older one fairly cheap, but I was worried about the older style speaker.

Haven't heard the new speakers yet, but I do recall Tech 21 TM amps sounding great with the stock speaker.

I can only imagine the TM with celestions will also sound great too...

Called Tech21- they said the stock speaker is a full-range speaker (flat response), but the supplier raised the prices, so they went to the Celestion, which isn't quite a flat response, but it is as close as they could get. They were going to switch to EVs, but they would have added a lot more cost.

A couple of years ago, I wanted a 1x12" extension cab for a TradeMark 10. Tried it with a Weber Blue Dog - the "Brit" sounded great, "California" sounded good, but the "Tweed" just sounded wrong somehow. Tech 21 sold me a "replacement" speaker for a PE-60 or TM-60, saying that it was un-colored with a flat response across the frequency spectrum. They were right, and the cab sounded fine.

Evenutally I bought a used Power Engine 60 and don't use the extension cab anymore. Feel free to PM me if you're interested in the old Tech 21 speaker.
