Hi, i have played through one of these amps in a shop before, but i couldnt get a decent tone out of it, does anyone have any metal-ish settings, NO scooped mids please, PS i play maiden, sabbath, Ozzy, but mostly my own stuff now, would be really helpful if some one had clips.

I have'nt played thru one of these amps, but according to the many reviews I've read at Harmony Central many people have said the same thing: it's not a metal amp. It's more of a blues-classic rock type of amp. Maybe with the right pedal thru the clean channel you could get the type of tones you're after.

i played one a little while ago - clean channel was amazingly good - esp for the price
the od channel was very vintage and didn't get to where i was looking (modern aggressive - not metal - but not allman brothers)

I have the YCV 40 myself, I LOVE it but I must say it's NOT suited for playing metal in the style you describe. You'd need something like a Mesa-Boogie Dual Rectifier for that kind of tone.
