Treble bleed cap with Surfer Antiquity II's

Hi All

I wondered if you could share your thoughts on whether a treble bleed mod works well with Antiquity II Surfer pickups?

I'm in the process of fitting the surfers to my american std strat and I've been using a treble bleed cap (no resistor, just cap) previously and was intending to keep it when the surfers get fitted. Any thoughts?

TIA!

whatever value you have now is probably fine. the mod itself works great with surfers, the value is personal preference as much as anything else which is why i suggest starting with whatever value you were happy with before

I never used a treble bleed with the Surfers...that's the great thing, they sound great either way.

I use Surfers and never needed a treble bleed.

But if you do:

Kinman: 1.2 nf and 130K in series

John Suhr: 680 pf and 150K in parallel

Lindy Fralin: 2200 pf and 220K in parallel

Take your pick!

Treble bleed should have no effect if the volume pot is on full, it's a high pass filter meant to retain highs as you turn the volume pot down. It certainly should not cause muddiness unless it's incorrectly installed.
