Treble bleeds should be a standard.....

Re: Treble bleeds should be a standard.....

Cool. I bet it probably is a tone saver, the cap and resistor in series. Those seem to work great for single coils. They taper well and they also get slightly darker on the way down, sounds good.

I'm liking the PRS version (thanx lewguitar). I tried a 150pf and it indeed didn't affect taper or stay too bright. 220pf was a bit brighter. I'm going with a 330 pf because if I use my tone knob, the eq stays the same as the volume comes down. Also I use a linear taper volume pot and the 330pf cap draws out the taper the right amount to where the volume tapers evenly from 10-2.

Re: Treble bleeds should be a standard.....

I just installed a treble bleed on one of my Strats, and I do not like it Sam I am.

Made the tone bright and thin, and I had read where the resistor in series with the cap was supposed to obviate that common complaint about it.

I CAN still get the right tone, but I have to roll back the tone knob quite a bit and I don't like that.
