trembucker space hardtail???

I am replacing the pickups in a humbucker equipped guitar and noticed something rather odd. this guitar has a tune-o-matic stop tailpiece bridge and the pickups that came out of it were the Humbucker variant (not trembucker) but the new HUMBUCKER dose not line up quite right and upon further inspection, Neither dose the stock pickup! it seems that this bridge is spaced for trembucker, but came, Factory stock, with humbuckers. i never noticed it before so i do not believe the sound quality suffered. i just find it odd that a hard tail guitar would have a trembucker space. why do they do that?

Side note. i have not yet wired up said pickup. should i send it back for a trembucker spaced one?

What type of guitar?

it is an ESP LTD PB-501. it is very similar to a les Paul in weight and tone wood (mahogany body, hard maple top, set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard) it has a Stop tailpiece tune-o-matic bridge that i, Incorrectly, assumed would be standard humbucker spaced. i took all but the high e string off to make iit easy to pull the pickups out, leaving one on to test the wiring job before completely re-stringing it. but i noticed, the high e sits just outside the bridge humbucker's pole pieces.

Just about all guitars use Trembucker/F-Spaced pickups in the bridge now.
