Trembuckers and pickguards

So I've read all kinds of conflicting info on putting a SD Trembucker in the bridge of a NON-Warmoth pickguard. I'd rather not spend 30-40 bucks on another pickguard. The question is... can I ream out a generic HSS pickguard and slap in a Covered SD Trembucker? Will the screw holes line up? Is it just a matter of the opening for the pickup? I"m thinkin.... how hard can this be? Any first hand experience out there? thanks!

The screw holes will line up. If there is any altering of the size of the humbucker opening, it is very slight. A few passes of a file does it.

This is true. I have a TB-5 in the bridge slot of one of my Les Pauls, it just took a slight filing of the pickup ring to get the TB-5 in there.

Can you tell which side I filed?
