ok heres my problem. i have a fender american deluxe v neck strat and setting it up like fender recommends makes pedal steel bending impossible. ive looked at products like the trem setter etc but they dont address my main problem.
i have no use for a floating trem and because i play .012s and/or .013s i have to put 5 springs on the trem and pull the claw tight so the back of the bridge plate is being pulled against the top of the body.heres a picture of how its set up now: http://community.webshots.com/photo/323974540/323979735aOlHUs
i DO use the tremolo (down only) so blocking it is not something im looking to do. im thinking it would be better to just have a tech replace the tremolo because i really love this guitar but are there any other things i can do before i have someone carve it up?
