Tremolo help

Re: Tremolo help

I've been looking into getting a Tremolo pedal... I think the Duncan Shape Shifter will be the one. That Tap Tempo/subdivision switch combo ought to make tempo matching a breeze. Couple that with the other controls and I'd imagine that pedal can cover a LOT of ground.

Re: Tremolo help

Yeah King Izz I never had a volume problem with mine, and I bought it new from guitar center last december(2010).

Re: Tremolo help

CHeck out the Tuna Melt - lotta love for that, and also the Guyatone VT-3. Both pretty cool/cheap.

If you get the Voodoo, get the 4 knob box.

New Boss is volume appropriate? Just snipping a cap will fix it? Or replacing R9. Man - I may pedal mod AND do my first mag swap this month!!!!

So you're saying get the Tremolo (4 knobs) over the Micro Vibe (2 knobs)?

Re: Tremolo help

I have the Voodoo Trem ... great unit, but I feel that it colours my sound a little too much for my liking.

Is that the one I got from you? I do notice a volume drop, or what seems like a drop, maybe I want a little boost when I kick it on. If it's got the new board looks like that R19 will do it, I'll have to check it out.

I really like it though, the volume thing is my only complaint. It does eveything I want to do, other than it would be cool to be able to control the speed with a pedal, maybe I'll try that down the road.

See The Vibe thread on this....

But Yes - Trem is trem. Vibe is Vibe. Chorus is Chorus.

All three have their use/place/sound.

Re: Tremolo help

I'm getting a tremolo craving again. I had a Boss tr-2 before, I didn't dig the volume drop though. Although since I now have a buffer, would that cure the tone suck?

Are their any good, moderately priced tremolos? How does the Hardwire series stack up? What about Vibe pedals (Vibrato)?

Desired effect would be that Greenday - Blvd of Broken Dreams style.

If you want boulevard then you want tremolo.

The TR2 does a GREAT choppy trem like that.

New TR-2 have corrected the volume drop my incorporating mods that Mike form AnalogMan does to the TR-2 but from the factory.

So, a new TR-2 won't have the volume issue.

Do you want tremolo or pedals with lots of knobs?!

Let's make this very clear...

Vibe (as in Uni-Vibe):

Tremolo:

Vibrato:

Re: Tremolo help

I'm using the Keeley modded TR2 . Yes, I can do the Green Day thing no problem - without the volume drop. It can also be used as a volume boost.

Re: Tremolo help

you want really choppy stuff for that song, go with a stereo pulsar, i believe there was one on the trading post for 55 shipped, go for it
