tremolo springs!

Hi!
My guitar is a Jackson DK2S and recently I've changed the gauge of the strings I use.
I've a couple of questions about the tremolo springs (on the back of the guitar).
1. Which is arrangement is recommended for which playing style? (by means of amount direction)
2. Will strat springs fit and go well with my Jackson?

Thanks, Leo.

Re: tremolo springs!

Did you go to a thicker guage?

1. Strat springs will be fine.
2. What trem do you have on there? Recessed Floyd correct?

The first step is to get it in balance. Then the feel. Lets say you have 3 springs in there, try putting it in an 'A' formation, or adding another spring to make it 4. Both will feel a bit different but allow you to keep the trem in balance with some adjustments.

Re: tremolo springs!

thank you both for the answers :)
the funny thing is that i've tried two different sets of strings:
1. elixir nanoweb .010-0.052
2. ernie ball 0.010-0.046
and nu.1 was very tense and then i've tried nu.2

now everything is fine. all is well!
