I noticed that the triaxis has direct recording outputs on back. Has anyone heard one of these direct? I'm very skeptical but also very curious as to how they do with no power tube saturation.

I tried recording direct from the back of my Mark IV. Shit was very sterile.

Thats my concern, not that I'm going to buy one soon but its definately a consideration for future amp endeavours.

I think it would sound best going from the direct outs, through a mic pre, into the recorder. And also, micing a speaker.
Robert S is the guy to talk to about the Triaxis, since he's used his for a long time.

Well the output would already be a line level so there would be no reason to add another pre in the chain. The output knob I assume would be the line level control. Or were you meaning something else?
