According to the guy at GC in Boston they are made by a group of people that left Marshall to make their own handwired amps. The one I played was supposed to be a blend between a vox and a marshall amp.

I was very impressed. The amp's two channels (see the control panel pic) had a high and low input and a volume and tone know. It could switch between 15 and 5 watts. It had great cleans and excellent natural tube distortion. I was trying it out with a standard american strat so I don't know how it sounds with hums....

You guys should really check this company out. I have been looking for my ideal tube amp forever (I currently have a 4x10 Fender Deville) and I think I just found it. The vox clean and bite to the marshall distortion. A bit expensive at $1,500 but it is handwired and sounds great to my ears...

I was looking at those amps in the new Guitar Buyers Guide. They look nice and the price isn't too bad either. I will be glad when our GC gets some in so I can try em'.

yeah idk when they will be getting them at other stores. The Boston store carries way more high end tube amps than any other guitar center I've been to. The simplicity is what makes it for me. It supposedly works very well with pedals too.

I tried the 100W halfstack and the Artisan 30? and both sounded really nice. Thumbs up on Blackstar. Just like good old vintage Marshall/Vox, with a bit more gain on tap.

I played the 15w. I easily found a nice dirty blues sound with it. It's a big size 15w! Thought about getting one but a friend from Guitar Center told me they are not that reliable. I don't know this to be fact but I was kind of turned off about them and never gave them another thought since. Some sound clips would be nice.
