triple shot ring dimensions?

They're not on the product page on the SD website. I've looked all over the net and can't find them anywhere.

Does anyone know the dimensions for the inside of the ring? I'm thinking about trying to fit two single coils inside there rather than a HB.

If anyone has a triple shot ring I'd be grateful if you posted the internal dimensions.

You have to mouse-over Pickups/Humbuckers then wait for the TripleShot popout.


They're big enough to fit 2 singles easily, but you won't be able to mount them. The switches are over the point where the mounting screws would be. You'd need a special bracket that held both pickups and mounted to the ring via the center like a humbucker, though the singles would have to be at the right height before you put them in the ring.


You can try it over a pickguard with 2 singles in a humbucker route, but again the mounting/height adjustment screws for the pickups will be right where the switches are, so you'd need to have the pickguard's holes drilled for flush-mount screws, and even then you can't adjust the pickup height without removing the ring.

thanks for the reply. I've been on that product page for the triple shots, SD have written "dimensions" and "specs" under the photo but nothing happens when you click on them so it's pretty useless.

Thanks for pointing out the potential problems with mounting screws and adjustments though, it's given me a lot to think about.

Anyone have the actual dimensions yet?
