Triple Shot rings and 4-wire PAFs - good idea or meh?

I'm about to install a pair of 4-wire PAFs (Toneriders, in this case, but the question is general to all vintage-style low-resistance PAFs). I have a pair of Triple Shot rings and the appropriate wire color conversion chart for Tonerider -> Duncan. Are the Triple Shot tone options worthwhile for low-resistance PAFs? Or is this just an unnecessary complication with vintage-style pickups?

Thanks!

Define worthwhile, because what's versatile and flexible to one player can mean cumbersome complexity to another.

Are you interested in the split or phase switching sounds? If you're interested in them because you like them or just want to try it out, go for it! You can always get rid of it.

I have Triple Shots with P-Rails on one guitar and they work great. That said, I personally wouldn't bother with them on standard pickups where the two coils are very similar or identical just because you'd be hard-pressed to hear the difference between the two coils.

On the other hand, they're an easy and forgiving way to get series/split/parallel (with a bonus 2nd split sound, whether you use it or not) on your guitar without major surgery.

I have SD59s in Triple Shots in my Les Paul. Rare to use single coils, but Series/parallel I'm using all the time - parallel particularly in more driven tones.
