Triple Shot Rings

Re: Triple Shot Rings

Hi evereyone,
I just bought 2 triple shot rings for my EC-1000 LTD along with SHPR-1 and SHPR-2 pick ups.
I chose the curved / LP style rings but it seems it doesn't fit my table. When I screw the rings they twist like they're not long enough. (I'll try to post picture if time allows)
Does anyone experienced that problem ?
Are Triple Shot not LTD or EC1000 compatible ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for the video Frank, I'll try to watch it when back from work.

Re: Triple Shot Rings

I've been using the Triple Shots for several years now and find that they are much easier to use with the switches "on top", especially when you want to change settings on the fly mid-song. With the switches below the high E string it is very difficult to operate without muting or buzzing the E string. No problem when they are on top, however.

I hear you, but I wouldn't be changing mid song, the tops of my pickup rings get pretty hammered when I play, and on top of that, they'd look better on the bottom.

Re: Triple Shot Rings

With some guitars, the screw spacing in the Triple Shot is different. I've experienced that also.

Just fill each of the ring mounting holes in your guitar with toothpicks and Elmers glue. It helps to redrill the holes (you can use the Triple Shot as a drill guide), but it's not always necessary.

Thank you very much, it comforts me a little bit..
I'll try that because my first attempts did cracks in the varnish..

Asian format humbucker rings are a bit bigger. Sometimes you can easily wiggle things together, sometimes you can not (too hard poly coat or old screw holes visible).

Not all Asian guitars have Asian sized rings but when they do it's very annoying.

Re: Triple Shot Rings

I'd love to try a set, but I'd really like the switches to be below the high E instead of above the low E.

PRECISELY! Who designed these? A left-hander?! It really sucks to reach your finger ALL the way up there to switch when you could almost keep a finger down by the 1st string all the time and flip at will.
I love the sounds I get from mine. And for the series thing, I just put in a single PP pot which does that. It works fabulously. I'm serious Seymour, think about the ergonomics here, it's much easier to flick a switch with any of the other four fingers that AREN'T holding a pick.

They fit PERFECTLY in Gibson LPs, but not at all in Epiphone LPs without the toothpick trick.
