Trouble fitting pickguard

Ok, wierd problem... I cant get the strat pickguard under that lip that sticks ot for the 22nd fret. It fit before i pit the electronics in, but the vintage noiseless pickups are so deep that i cant slide the pg under the lip. The full size pots and tbx are too big to let me slide much thecother direction either. Wtf? Do i just try bending the thing and hope for the best?

Re: Trouble fitting pickguard

How about removing the whole harness/pot assembly along with the pickups, placing them in the routes, and putting the pickguard over them. You can then pull each item through whatever hole it needs to be in, and tighten. Are you dealing with pickup springs? You could possibly keep them in during the install, tightened all down for clearance.

Re: Trouble fitting pickguard

Sure hope i dont have to take off the neck to put on a pickguard. Just paid a luthier to put a new neck on and set it up.

I guess dropping ghe neck pickup into the cavity then trying to remount it may be the way to go.

I was hoping there was an easier way. Im used to the 21 fret mexican necks. Never had this prblem before. Lol!

Re: Trouble fitting pickguard

I had the same issue with a build, I just loosened the screws to give more clearance.

Re: Trouble fitting pickguard

I had that problem before
Get a pocket knife

Wallow that neck pocket on the pickguard a little at a time

If you have a dremel tool
Take a marker
Drag the tip along the inside of the pocket lightly
The dremel or whittle the mark off
Try again
