Truss Rod adjustments

If I take my neck off for a month, is it normal that I'd need to readjust it when I put it back on?

It's a double action truss rod neck from warmoth. ( I think) I thought those were more stable.

The bummer is that the adjustment is at the heel.

Re: Truss Rod adjustments

Not surprising, but you might just try putting strings on it (brought up to tune) and let it sit for a few days. You may find that the string tension brings it right back to where it was before (as long as it wasn't adjusted WITHOUT the tension).

Re: Truss Rod adjustments

A double action rod doesn't make the wood its constructed from less or more susceptible to the weather. It just mean you can adjust the neck to cope for more varied shifts in bow.

I did some work on my wife's father's Strat a while back. He left the tension off for about a week & ran into a similar issue. Once I re-strung it & let it sit for a few days it was absolutely fine. I'd definitely start there & if you still have problems then worry about adjusting the truss....

Thanks, I've been patient this long I guess I can wait a bit longer to see if it readjusts itself.

Re: Truss Rod adjustments

I'm not really that patient. I had to adjust it twice. A quarter turn each time. Now it's okay.
