Trying a couple new ones; Custom Shop '78 TB & Super V TB

Although I'm not sure what they'll wind up residing in just yet. Had an "Evenly Voiced Harmonics" TB in a Neck Thru Jackson Custom Shop Soloist and love it but it had a Jackson Factory Active Mid-Boost that made it sound BADA$$ so I really didn't get to experience it on it's own. Presume the '78 will sound quite similar to the "EVH" so have a grasp on that one.

Bought a Super V previously but sold it due to swaying to an RTM. Have researched threads and read what I could find on the Super V. Would like to hear from those who have installed it. My take post research is that the Super V might be a bit bright sounding and would be better suited to a mahogany bodied guitar...so looking for input from those who have used one and spent enough time with one to opine.

The "EVH" and 78 are different names for the same pickup, so they should sound identical. I've never tried it with the active mid-boost, but I loved it in my Charvel 25th Anniversary San Dimas.

Yes Sir; I'm familar with the "EVH/'78"; it's the Super V that's a bit more puzzling sound wise. I've listen to a couple clips on youtube and read threads here and elsewhere but was hoping to hear something from people who have used them for a while and have a take on them as far as what brings out the best in it regarding such as pots, cap values, etc.

There's a review on Darth Phineas's website. He might chime in on this thread too.

Yes Sir; read his review as well. I've been talking with a couple of people who had 'em and sold 'em because they felt that they were too "bright" sounding in both an alder superstrat and a mahogany body fixed bridge so I'd like to set these up right in whatever they wind up in from the get go with pots/caps and all. I have heard that they "love Elixir strings".
