Trying to replace EMG HZs

Hey everyone!

I have a Schecter Damien 6 with the EMG HZs. Im looking to get something a little "warmer" and heavy bluesy. I was looking at the Alnico Pro II HBs or possibly the Hot Rodded Humbucker pair.

The guitar is basswood with a rosewood neck. Any thoughts? Im really just trying to get a more classic bluesy rock sound. I play through a solid state Orange amp if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to the forum!

It isn't just EQ as a concern- you have to decide if you need more or less power (compression & touch-sensitivity) than you have now. The JB of the Hot Rodded set is at least twice the output of an Alnico II Pro, and is a much brighter pickup.

Thanks for the reply. I guess my best bet is to go and play a few guitars with differetn pickups to see what I like before i commit.

Thanks again!!
