Trying to understand this ohm meter's dial

I am going to have to pick up an ohm meter so I can measure a few pickups resistance. There are some ohm meters that have k values on the dial and according to what I've seen on YouTube if you have one of those you would set the dial to 20k. Then just attach the probes to the pickup's wires.

But there are other ohm meters that don't look like that.

For instance this one:

In case I bought this one would I just set the dial to the ohm mark (the upside down U symbol)?

You would use the Ω setting, and there's a Range button (purple, far right just under the display) that should allow you to select from a number of different ranges. Very likely 0-20 KΩ would be one of the available settings.
